Autool Stroboscope Lamp | Timing

The Autool strobe lamp is a diagnostic tool designed for checking and adjusting the ignition timing of gasoline engines. This model operates on a 12V power supply and is compatible with most conventional and electronic ignition systems. The lamp is connected via battery clamps and an inductive pickup clamped to the spark plug wire of the first cylinder.

The lamp housing is made of ABS material , ensuring resistance to impact and engine fluids. The device features a bright xenon lamp that produces a concentrated beam of light to clearly see the timing marks on the crankshaft pulley or flywheel, even in daylight. The pistol-grip design ensures stable operation while taking measurements.

Application and functionality:

The strobe lamp is used for taking measurements and making adjustments to a vehicle's ignition system. Its functionality focuses on visualizing ignition timing.

• Check ignition timing: The lamp flashes in synchronization with the ignition of the first cylinder. This causes the rotating timing marks on the crankshaft pulley or flywheel to appear stationary, allowing the ignition timing to be read and compared to the manufacturer's specifications.
• Adjusting the ignition timing: The distributor can be adjusted while the engine is running. The lamp immediately shows the effect of the adjustment, allowing you to set the timing precisely.
• Advance Diagnosis: Checks the correct operation of the mechanical (centrifugal) and vacuum advance mechanisms by varying the engine speed and observing the movement of the timing marks.
• Simple connection: The red and black clamps are connected to the positive and negative terminals of the 12 V battery. The inductive sensor is clamped around the spark plug wire of the first cylinder, without having to disconnect the wire.
