Topdon TB8000 | Trickle charger

The Topdon TB8000 is a battery charger and maintainer designed for charging 6V and 12V lead-acid batteries, and 12V lithium-ion batteries. The device delivers a maximum charging current of 8A and is suitable for batteries with capacities from 15Ah to 260Ah . It operates using a 9-step smart charging process that analyzes the battery's condition and adjusts the charging process accordingly for optimal results. The charger is compatible with various battery types, including WET, GEL, MF, CAL, EFB, AGM, and Lithium.

This trickle charger features multiple charging modes, including a dedicated repair mode for restoring sulfated batteries and a power supply mode that delivers a stable voltage of 13.6V/5A. A built-in temperature sensor automatically compensates for the charging voltage based on the ambient temperature. The system has various safety mechanisms, including protection against reverse polarity, short circuit, overcharging, and overheating. The enclosure is IP65 rated, providing protection against dust and water.

Application and functionality:

The TB8000 is designed for charging, maintaining and restoring various types of vehicle batteries.

• 9-Step Smart Charging: The charging process automatically goes through nine steps, including diagnosis, desulfation, pre-charge, soft start, bulk charge, absorption, analysis, reconditioning and maintenance (trickle charge).
• Repair Mode: A special mode to recondition older, unused or sulphated 12V batteries by means of a pulsed charging process.
• Power Mode: Functions as a stable 13.6V/5A power source. This can be used to power a vehicle's onboard electronics during battery changes or diagnostics.
• Automatic temperature compensation: An integrated sensor measures the ambient temperature and automatically adjusts the charging voltage to prevent overcharging or undercharging in extreme temperatures.
• Multiple Charging Modes: Offers specific settings for 12V NORM, 12V LITHIUM, 12V AGM/COLD, 6V NORM, and 12V REPAIR.
• Built-in protection: The system is spark-proof and provides protection against reverse polarity, overcharging, overcurrent, open circuit, short circuit and overheating.

Supported battery types:

The charger is compatible with a wide range of 6V and 12V batteries.

• Lead Acid (6V & 12V): Suitable for wet (Flooded), gel, maintenance-free (MF), Calcium (Ca), Enhanced Flooded Battery (EFB) and Absorbed Glass Mat (AGM) batteries.
• Lithium-ion (12V): Supports 12V lithium batteries, including LiFePO4 batteries.
